Jenny That slippers line matters, because the next paper is also about presence, just at home instead of work: “Mommy, do you love your phone more than me?”: Parental device use and the adolescent-caregiver attachment bond.
Jenny Don Grant and colleagues surveyed six hundred U.S. adolescents, ages twelve to seventeen, and the core finding is pretty direct: when teens felt a caregiver’s device made them less emotionally available, those teens reported more insecure attachment.
Jenny Attachment here just means the felt safety of the bond, and the higher device-interference scores were linked with both anxious attachment, where a kid worries the caregiver won’t be there, and avoidant attachment, where a kid pulls back from needing them, for mother-like and father-like figures.

Jenny With a pilot this small, what would we need to see before saying ambient AI really improves clinician wellbeing, not just makes thirteen people feel relieved for a few weeks?
Davis They did a prospective pilot at two community-based family medicine residency programs in the United States, invited sixteen third-year residents, enrolled fifteen, and got pre and post surveys from thirteen.
